Kathryn Albright's THE REBEL AND THE LADY has won the Reader's Choice Award for 2008 for Best Western Romance from Love Western Romances.
 

 

Judy Duarte is a finalist in the 2009 RITAs in the Insprational Romance Category for her Kensington title, MULBERRY PARK (John Scognamiglio, Editor). Judy also won the Chapter's Barbara Faith Award this year. 



 

 

Crystal Green is a finalist in the 2009 RITAs in the Contemporary Series Romance Category for her Silhouette Special Edition, FALLING FOR THE LONE WOLF (Susan Littman, Editor). 



 

Christie Ridgway was awarded Romanthttp://www.leanneshawler.comic Times 2008 Career Achievement Award for Contemporary Romance, Single Title.  

 

 

RWA announced that Jill Limber is one of last year's recipients of the prestigious RWA Service Award.  Jill is being honored for her dedication and service to the national organization.

The Chapter bestowed the Marian Award on Jill Limber at the Monthly meeting in March.  Implemented in 2006 and named after the first recipient, Marian Jones, this award recognizes a member's dedication to the Chapter and lifetime achievement in writing.

The Spring Into Romance 2009 Winners!

Sally Orr's RAKE BY ANY OTHER NAME is a finalist for the 2009 Golden Acorn Excellence in Writing Award in the Historical Category.  

HelenKay Dimon's RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW is a finalist in the single title category of the 2009 Book Buyers Best Contest sponsored by the OCC Chapter of the RWA.  

Sylvia Day's DON'T TEMPT ME won the Winter Rose Award sponsored by the Yellow Rose Chapter of the RWA.

Trish Albright's SIREN'S SONG finaled in the  First Coast Romance Writers' 2009 Published Beacon Contest, as well as the WisRWA's Write Touch Readers' Award Contest and for the Colorado Romance Writers Award of Excellence 2009.

Phyllis A. Humphrey's TRUMPED BY MURDER finaled in the St. Martin's Press Malice Domestic, "Best First Traditional Mystery" contest.

Linda Wisdom and Leanne Shawler will be presenting talks a the Emerald City Conference in Seattle in October.

Samantha Sommersby's FORBIDDEN:THE REVOLUTION has finaled for the 2009 New England Reader’s Choice Bean Pot Award.

Jean Hart Stewart's book DRUID TRIUMPHANT has been nominated for Best Book of 2008 at Love Romances  Cafe.

Jannine Corti Peska received a contract from Livorno Press and sold sold book one of her medieval psychic sisters trilogy to Eternal Press.

HelenKay Dimon's release YOUR MOUTH DRIVES ME CRAZY  (Kensington Brava) won  the Booksellers' Best Award for best single title of 2007 from the Greater Detroit Chapter of RWA as well as placed 3rd in the Orange County RWA's Book Buyer's Best Award, single title category. It also finaled in the Golden Quill Contest for published authors sponsored by the Phoenix Desert Rose Chapter of RWA.

Contests

-Lisa Kessler's manuscript NIGHT WALKER won third place in the 2009 Winter Rose Unpublished Contest for Paranormal. 

-Pam Scheibe's TOUCH OF SPIRIT won second place in the Paranormal Category of the Connecticut Romance Writer's Connections Contest.

-Sally Orr's RAKE BY ANOTHER OTHER NAME won first place in the Historical Category of the 2009 Linda Howard Award of Excellence Contest.

-Maria Connor's manuscript WILLING TO LEARN won second place for Contemporary Series in the THE BEACON - 2008 Unpublished Division contest.

-Anna Clevenger's manuscript HONOR'S CAPTAIN won first place in Indiana's Golden Opportunity 2008 contest for Historicals and won the East Valley Author's 2nd Annual Query contest.  

-Sally Orr's manuscript DONNE WITH LOVE (aka A RAKE BY ANY OTHER NAME) won first place in NJ's Put Your Heart in a Book, the Heart of the Rockies, tied for first place in the Golden Rose contest. She won second in the Finally a Bride, and finaled in the East Valley Author's 2nd Annual Query contest.

Linda Thomas-Sundstrom's manuscript ALICYN WONDERLAND won second place in the paranormal category of the Book of Your Heart contest sponsored by PASIC (Published Authors Special Interest Chapter) of RWA.

Terry Blain's manuscript KENTUCKY GREEN is a finalist in the Historicl/Western Catagory of the EPPIE contest.

-Ann Siracusa's manuscript DESTRUCTION OF THE GREAT WALL won third place in the Golden Gateway contest for THE ITALIAN TRAINWRECK and finaled in the Hot Prospects contest.

-Kerry-Leigh Grady's manuscript HEX APPEAL won second place in the Melody of Love contest,  was a Runner up in the Launching a Star contest.  Her manuscript THAT OLD BLACK MAGIC won second place in the FF&P chapter's On the Far Side contest. 

-Jeanne Dickson's manuscript HIS NUTCRACHER SWEETS won first place in the Launching a Star Contests. She will have a star named after her! She won second place in the Gateway to the Best contest. She won the Contest Diva Grand Slam Tiara Award for finaling 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th in contests this year.  .
